Learn the FUNdamentals of theatre and performance in our Theatre Skills class! Discover the thrill of acting and character development while building confidence and expressing your creative side.  Studying Theatre encourages communication, imagination and curiosity. It also nurtures concentration, leadership skills and teaches collaboration and empathy for others – all within a constructed, safe environment. Plus, it’s a great way to make new friends and it's fun!  Theatre Skills classes are kept small to focus on the individual student and their development as young artists.  Classes will consist of physical and vocal warm-ups, fun drama activities, core theatre skills study and performance. Throughout the year, families will be invited to enjoy showcase performances of the skills learned. 


 This full year program will explore the following Theatre Skills:


  • Acting Scenes – working as an ensemble to perform theatre scenes
  • Improvisation – learn the craft of improvising scenes through exercises and games
  • Monologues – study and perform chosen monologues for enjoyment and auditions.
  • Play Writing and Directing – Write a scene collectively and discover the different theatre roles required to bring it to performance.
  • And so much more!!


Classes are located Downtown Dartmouth.

37 weeks from September 19th, 2018 to June 19th, 2019.  (No class on Dec. 26th, Jan. 2nd, and Mar. 20th)


Theatre Skills I: Ages 10-13:

This class is for students with minimal to no theatre experience. Topics explored include Improvisation, Character development, Scene study, Theatre Games and Performance.

Wednesday evenings:         6:00-7:15pm

Fee: 3 payment installments: (Sept 1) $238, (Jan 1) $187, (Apr 1) $204 OR $629 for full year program.


Theatre Skills II:  Ages 11–15:

This class is for students aged 11-15 who have already completed Theatre Skills I.  Students with previous theatre training and experience may be considered to join the class on a case by case basis.  Focus is on Monologues, Directing, Scene study, Theatre Games and Improvisation.

Wednesday evenings:         7:15-8:30pm

Fee: 3 payment installments: (Sept 1) $238, (Jan 1) $187, (Apr 1) $204 OR $629 for full year program.
